An acquaintance of mine that has a profitable eCommerce business recommended I check out jungle scout. This is a Chrome plugin that provides data on purchase price, sales per month, revenue, estimated amazon FBA fees, and an “opportunity ranking” from 1-10 for any product on amazon. The system is now going to be to find hundreds of products that could be sold profitably, look them up on junglescout, and then do market tests of the top ones. Free market tests can be done on ebay, etsy or craigslist. Each of these methods has it’s own limitations. Once we identify the best 10 products those will each get $100 of budget for market tests using google, facebook, or bing ads.
I’ve given up on the pens. The new strategy is to find trending products, do single product landing pages, and try to sell the crap out of them. I’m basing this on success stories from others.
I’m republishing this blog, I had it removed in favor of my electronics blog. That is now at foc-electronics.com. I took a 6 month hiatus from entrepreneurial efforts to focus on meeting my life long goal of getting my private pilot license. I passed my checkride a couple weeks ago.
Since then I’ve continued honing my web development and administration skills on various small personal projects. I now expect to be able to do a much better job at this.
